Kuntan Ni’s research interests are neural dynamics in both micro- and macro- circuitry levels underlying cognitive functions (e.g. working memory, economic decision-making), and mechanisms of emotion-cognition interactions. Currently, he focuses on elucidating neuronal mechanisms of working memory participating in economic decisions, specifically, the coding mechanisms of orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) and lateral prefrontal cortex (LPFC) by adopting multi-channel electrophysiological recordings in awake monkeys.
