主要从事语言和认知发展研究，关注语言（言语和阅读）和其它高级认知能力在多个层面上的神经机制、正常和异常的语言-认知系统发展过程以及个体差异，和人类语言处理与人工智能自然语言处理间的相互启示。
近5年主要科研项目： 2020 – 2023 主持“基于词汇语义网络的语义表征与语义整合的认知神经机制研究”（国家自然科学基金面上项目）；2019 – 2022 作为子项目负责人参与“儿童青少年脑智发育机制研究”（上海市科委基础研究项目）；2018 – 2021 主持“非语言优势半脑在语言系统中的作用及其机制”（国家自然科学基金面上项目）；2017 – 2019 主持“脑疾病及脑网络的跨学科研究”（上海市科委基础研究项目）；2017 – 2019 合作主持“Semantic Representation in Cognitive Neuroscience and Computer Science”（上海纽约大学JRI 合作研究项目，与上纽大田兴、张峥合作主持）；2015 – 2017 主持“序列加工机制对语言偏侧化的影响及其领域特殊性研究”（国家自然科学基金青年项目）。
